Course Specific Questions

 

1. When I complete the course, how do I receive my contact hours for continuing education?

To receive your contact hours, you need to: 

  • Complete the final examination in its entirety.
  • Choose “submit” to allow it to be graded.

To receive your certificate for your contact hours, follow these easy steps:

  • Go to www.learningext.com and enter in your username and password.
  • Choose My Courses from the menu on the left.
  • Scroll down to the name of the course.
  • Click either on the small picture of the diploma that appears beside the course or on the word Certificate that appears under the title of your course.
  • If your certificate hasn’t appeared yet, check back later. Course certificates can take up to 24 hours to appear.
  • If your course has expired, go to My Course and select Past to go to your past courses and find your certificate.

Your transcript is an ongoing, official record of the courses you’ve taken through NCSBN Learning Extension. To access your virtual transcript 24/7, enter My Courses, and select Past Courses  to find a list of: Courses Taken, Date, Grade Percentage, and CE Credit.

2. How do I obtain my certificate if I don't have ready access to a printer?

If you have printer access at another location, you can return to the e-campus at a later time to print your certificate. Or you can simply contact the Campus Administrator at campusadmin@ncsbn.org. We’ll be happy to mail you your certificate.

3. Is this course approved for CE credit?

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has approved this course for continuing education credit. NCSBN is a continuing education provider approved by The Alabama Board of Nursing. All states accept continuing education credits issued by NCSBN.

6. Will it take me three weeks to complete the course?

You work at your own pace. It is possible to cover all course material in 2-8 hours (depending on the course) if you're crunched for time

7. Can I take NCSBN Learning Extension continuing education courses in print or CD-ROM format?

NCSBN’s continuing education courses are only available online. Using online course materials, instead of printed or CD editions, allows us to constantly update content to reflect changes in nursing practice.

8. Will I receive continuing education credit?

Absolutely! After you successfully complete the final exam with a score of 75% or better, you will receive your contact hours. NCSBN Learning Extension online courses are a great way to earn continuing education credits, while accommodating your busy nursing schedule.

Yes, you can retake the exam as many times as you’d like.

13. How do I find out why an answer was wrong on the final test?

For an explanation of why you missed a question, see the numbers that appear along the bottom of the screen. Questions with an "x" reflect incorrect answers. Simply click on the number of the question you missed for more information to help you choose the correct answer.

Your score will not be recorded until you select Submit.

Your username and password not only give you access to the course materials, but also to your unique personalized study plan. Sharing your password with others is a violation of your user agreement

What are the basic requirements for accessing the course?

To access the course you will need a conncetion to the Internet, a PC, the Internet Explorer Browser, the ability to disable pop-up blockers on your browser, the Adobe Flash player and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
